Life story

"Shomari Grayson Sr. passed away on July 15, 2024 at Carle Health Methodist at the age of 45. He was born on May 17, 1979 in Chicago, IL to Theresa Grayson. He grew up in Peoria and attended Manual High School. Shomari is survived by 6 children, 6 grandchildren, a sister, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Minnie Thompson and grandfather Richard Grayson.

In his personal life, Shomari was a loving Father, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. He will be remembered for his kindness and his ability to always put a smile on his family and friend’s faces.


Shomari will be cremated on July 27, 2024, services will be private and his ashes will be taken back to his birth place. If you would like to pay your respects there will be a candlelight service July 28, 2024 in Peoria, IL at Detweiller Park at 8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his daughter.
