Life story
" “God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon Earth and saw Amy’s tired face. He put his arms around Amy and lifted her to rest. With the help of his angels they flew Amy to her heavenly place.”
Amy passed on July 13, 2024 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Va. at the age of 53. She was preceded by her parents, Charles and Doris Cropper; brother, Charlie Jr.; sister, Doris Ann, and great grandchild Damari Howard.
Amy leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Lawrence; a son, Malik; daughter, Jadyn of the home in King George, VA.; step daughters, Stephanie Howard and Angel Peyton; and five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Cropper (Tammy) and Vicky Cropper (Steven); her two aunts, Betty Weeks and Bernice Kimmitz; uncles, Terry Kimmitz and Leon Cropper, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She attended schools in King George and Caroline counties. Amy graduated from Caroline High School with a beautician certificate Her first job was as a beautician doing the love of hair dos. She married Lawrence Peyton and has two beautiful children. She returned to the workforce to start a new career in the healthcare field with nursing homes. Then she went on to do private home care, which included taking care of her sick mother, Doris Cropper until God called her home. Caregiving was just one of her passions that she worked at for 25 years.
Amy enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends, going to cook outs, bingo and game night. She will be missed by all that knew her and loved her.
