Life story

"Many may know him as Father, Grandfather or brother, Lee Winstead was a great man of wisdom, compassion and strength. Born on May 9, 1947 in Durham North Carolina where he grew up with his Father, brother and sister. Where him and his siblings had to go out every early morning sometimes before day light breaks to harvest tobacco in fields miles long just so they can make $2 dollars. Even though it was only $2 dollars, they showed us that no matter how much you have, less or more, you can still make it if you focus on the importance of life, which was family because them $2 dollars taught some value lesson and kept our family loving and strong because of the the love and support they had for one another. His early life experiences shaped his values and work ethic, which he carried with him throughout his life.

With a passion for nature and loving to be out doors, he dedicated himself to starting his own lawn service which he used to help raise and support all love one from his kids to his grandchildren. His determination inspired our family and those around him. I fondly remember his stories of family working with him and it be days that we wonder how you even do it, but now we see why and when I look around the room and see and feel the love he’s spilled in our hearts through his loving years here with us.

One of the most significant lessons in life that he left with us was that “ If you don’t do it, then who will”. His guidance and support have had a profound impact on our lives.

My father, grandfather and brother legacy will alway be cherish and remember for his kindhearted and loving and strong will to keep us together will never be forgotten. We are forever grateful to have such a man, mentor and role model in our lives that we proudly will strive to carry out his values and spirit in Jesus name amen!
