"Dawn Mudd was born and raised in Park Ridge Illinois. She met her husband Scott Mudd in 1978 at the age of 16. They both worked at Pickwick a movie theater. Dawn was the candy girl and dad was the usher.

Dawn and Scott married in 1983 and then moved out to Arizona in 1993 with Ashley and Samantha, their two daughters. Dawn loved being a mom and cared for her beloved family.

In her career, Dawn was a makeup artist with Christian Dior, worked at Bath & Body works, and at University of Phoenix as an executive counselor, where she just celebrated 19 years.

Dawn also loved all things animals, especially cats.
She loved all types of birds too, cardinals and hummingbirds. She loved her some Diet Pepsi and she also loved to read.

Dawn passed peacefully on June 10th 2024 after fighting for 8 long months. She gave it her all but God had other plans.

She survived by her mother Mavis, her sister Carol, her husband Scott and two daughters Ashley and Samantha, two granddaughters Olivia and Isla, her grandson Tanner and her niece Tara.

"Dawn was one of the nicest people I’ve ever known. She was beautiful inside and out; she was polite, kind, and always smiling! I loved working with her for the last 15 years & I loved listening to her talk to her students because she spoke to them like they were family! I knew that Dawn was someone special soon after we started working together… I was at the swap meet in Mesa and Dawn saw Cassidy (at age 2) in my stroller and Dawn immediately knew that it was me pushing the stroller because she recognized Cassidy from the pictures on my desk! Dawn will be missed by many, I for one am very sad that I can’t go visit her from time to time and catch up on each other's lives. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Dawn’s family and friends during this time of loss.”

"So sorry to hear about Dawn’s passing. Dawn will always be remembered for the countless number of lives she changed while working at the University of Phoenix. She treated her students like family and always made a special connection with each of them. She was amazing! So many memories of her at meetings, team builders, potlucks, community service outings and her famous glitter magnets she was always work on while on the phone. Dawn will be missed by many but never forgotten! Greg”
