Life story
" On Memorial Day weekend, we honor those who have served our country in the armed services. Today, May 26, 2024, we especially remember and honor Dick Truslow, age 94, who has passed from this earth to his heavenly home.
Dick was born in Alexandria, Virginia. He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. When he left the service, he worked as a surveyor for many years.
Dick lived in his condo in Annandale, Virginia, with his wife, Nancy, for many years. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Dick entered hospice care in May 2024. When he began to decline, he was admitted to the Inpatient Unit of Hospice at Sibley Hospital, where he passed away from natural causes.
Surviving relatives are his wife, Nancy; stepdaughter, Janelle (spouse Kirk); brother, Bob; granddaughter Rebekah (spouse Todd); and great-grandchildren Nicole, Benjamin, Daniel, and Matthew.
There will not be a viewing. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery at a date in the future. He will be buried next to his stepson, David, who passed away 2 years ago.
Dick was an active member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion. Donations in honor of Marshall Truslow may be made to American Legion Post #177, 3939 Oak Street, Fairfax, VA 22030 (703-273-2250).
The family is very grateful to Capital Caring Hospice for their wonderful care.
