Life story

"Donald. W. Adams passed away peacefully and comfortably at home on May 22nd with his wife of 48 years by his side, after a brief battle with cancer. Don was born December 3, 1942, in Vineland, NJ to Joshua F. & Ellen (Barton) Adams, joining his three older brothers Forrest, Carroll, and John.

Don lived in Vineland for 70 and graduated from Vineland High School in 1961. He retired as Plant Maintenance Supervisor from Rock-Tenn Company after 28 years. His mechanical talents then became instrumental at his father-in-law’s business M&R Products, until he retired in 2008. He and his wife retired to Fredericksburg, VA in 2012.

Don was an avid car enthusiast. He loved drag racing, street rodding, slot cars, and enjoyed building cars through the years. He had a natural mechanical ability and curiosity to understand how things worked. He was honest and true to himself. He was always in the garage or basement fixing or creating, or in the driveway washing a car.

He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Christine E. (Brown), and his three beloved sons, Donald W. Jr, (& Tracy), Richard D (& wife), Jason S (& Jen). He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, Richard. Jr, Ryan, Kaleigh (& John) Wagers, Donald III (& Halie), Cameron, Chase, Beckett, Jake, and Chloe, in addition to two great grandchildren, Hudson & Mya. Also his beloved cat, Willow

A private celebration of life will be held honoring Don. In lieu of flowers, Don’s family would prefer a donation to American Cancer Society (donate.cancer.org), or a charity of your choice.
