Life story

" Jeffrey D Black was a beloved and beautiful person who loved his wife and children dearly. He was a very proud grandfather of his granddaughter Nairobi. He was a wonderful father to both Kalina & Arianna. He adored his wife, Marta, who he named "Love". He loved all his siblings, his extended family and his Beloved Mother Mrs. Daisy Black.

Jeffrey's passion was sports, especially the Knicks, Yankees, Mets and many others teams. He loved his music, especially 70s/80s classics, R&B & summertime reggae. He also liked classical music and had early training as a young cellist. He loved writing poetry often about family, nature, spirituality and symbolic words of inspiration. A man of God, he would often pray and demonstrate reverence to his connection to his Higher Power & ancestors. He also valued working and always made sure his family was well taken care of. He was an outdoors man who loved nature as well as city life. He made friends with just about everyone he met. He loved helping others. He was great with animals. He loved taking pictures, especially of springtime flowers. He particularly loved carnations.

Jeffrey loved going to Broadway shows and sports games. He also loved seeing his daughter and granddaughters perform dance, singing & theatre and going to Arianna's Fashion shows and celebrations. He was also very proud of how his daughters and granddaughter were all honors students. He loved bringing flowers and chocolate to his wife. He was also a quiet man and was very peaceful in his nature. Jeffrey was loved by just about everyone.

Jeffrey is one of the rarest lost treasures of our time, who always had a way of making you smile. During his aging, he was battling illness which began to slow down his pace. He died peacefully at home with his wife, daughters and granddaughter by his side. May he rest in peace.

"I am blessed to have known Jeffery. He was at my house for this year’s Cinco de Mayo celebration. I will always cherish that day. Little did I know that it would be my last time seeing him. His untimely passing deeply saddens me. I will remember we always had lively discussions about NY sports teams whenever he visited. God bless you. Rest in peace, my brother. -Wilson T. Miñon”
