Life story

"BENJAMIN DAVID DURAND
Born February 6, 1994, Ben Durand departed this world to walk with Jesus and join his beloved Grandma D on May 13, 2024. He leaves behind his parents Jennifer Snyder (David) and Ken Durand (Barbara), sister Stephanie Gaeta (Matthew), nephew Jack (aka Jack Jack) and niece Elouise Gaeta, grandfather Don Durand (Carol), maternal grandparents Liliane and David Snyder.

Ben had many aliases including Benji, Benny Boo, Ben-jamin, Ben-Ben, and Benjamina (Frank’s favorite). He lived and loved wide open. He left a mark on all those he met with his wit, charm, infectious smile, and sense of humor. Ben loved everyone, was genuine, kind, loyal, and empathetic. At times his heart was too soft and kind for the realities of this world.

Ben thrived on adrenaline. He enjoyed playing roller hockey, street hockey, riding street bikes (probably not within the speed limit), racing dirt bikes, and even skydiving. His love for nature and the outdoors was evident in his passion for camping and attending car shows. He was equally happy savoring a bowl of ice cream with Oreos for breakfast.

A man of many talents, Ben excelled in auto mechanics and cell tower construction. However, his greatest love and skill was in welding, where he always took pride in delivering outstanding work.

Ben loved his family, loved spending time with all of them especially his sister, nephew, niece, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ben was always up for “hanging out” with family and friends, both old and new. While we are devastated that his life was so short we know he is at peace, will forever be wrapped in love in heaven, and will always reside in our hearts... until we meet again.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday May 18th at 11:00 AM at Family Worship Center, 12077 Marsh Rd. Bealeton, VA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to the Family Worship Center.
