Life story

"Orabella Miguel, a longtime Wakefield resident died peacefully Friday, June 24 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She was 102 years old. Born in the Azores, Portugal on December 7, 1919 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Emily (Mello) Souza. Orabella was a member of St. Joseph Church in Wakefield. She had a love of arts and crafts, most especially knitting and crocheting. She loved to make Afghan blankets for her loved ones. Orabella most enjoyed being around people and sharing in happy memories with family and friends. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel J. Miguel. She was the loving mother of Richard Miguel and his late wife Lynda Hague of Chelmsford, Rita Sheridan and her husband Stephen of Valrico, FL and Deborah Moores and her husband Robert of Wakefield. She was the cherished Vovo to her four grandchildren: Stephen Jr. Jennifer, Monica, and Geoffrey; she is also survived by her four great grandchildren: Jared, Thomas, Mackenzie, and Abigail. She was the sister of the late Olive Souza. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St. Wakefield on Tuesday, June 28 at 11am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, June 27 from 4-7pm. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
