Life story

"Margaret Koles Lala, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away peacefully in Hammond on Friday, June 24, 2022, at the age of 95. She was born on Tuesday, April 5, 1927, in Montcleve, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Koles. She was a life long member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Margaret loved her family dearly and adored her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Carol Ponthier and her husband, Roy, son, Sal W. Lala and his wife, Roxann, son, Greg Lala and his wife, Yvonne, daughter, Donna Drude and her husband, Randy, grandchildren, Kristen Nugent (Paul), Brett Lala (Stacey), Brandi Heath (Shane), Taylor Archote (Justin), and Carly Drude; great-grandchildren, Regan, Bryce, Blake, Brock, Barrett, Cayman, and her sisters, Liz Ivanisky, and Helen Kropog. She was preceded in death by her husband, Salvador Sammie Lala. Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd. Hammond, LA 70401 on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 9:00 am until the Rosary begins at 12:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 1:00 pm, with Fr. Cayet Mangiaracina, OP officiating.
