Life story

"Katherine Flynn-Oravec Kitty, age 69. Passed away May 15, 2021. Treasured daughter of the late Edward J. and Coletta T. Flynn. Beloved wife of Lawrence Oravec for 5 blissful years. Dear sister of Patricia (John) Macko, Mary Ellen (late Ronald), Edward (Mary) Flynn, and the late Ann (George) Zimmerman. Favorite aunt of 29 and great-aunt of 25. Katherine led a life of many facets. She graduated in the class of 1970 from West Tech High School. She then went into a dedicated career with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff\'s Department from 1977 to 2001. Kitty served as a Correctional Officer, earning the title of Sergeant, and retired as the head of the training department for future officers. She spent her later years as a receptionist at Warwick Communications from 2004-2007. Kitty was fiercely proud of her Irish heritage. Those with the honor of knowing her will remember her for her personality. She was take-charge and motivated when she needed to be, but at her core a compassionate and generous soul who would give all of herself for those she loved. Kitty will be missed greatly by so many who cared for her. Funeral Mass Friday, May 21 at 11:30AM at St. John Bosco, 6480 Pearl Rd, Parma Heights.
